PREPAREDNESS / ENGINEERING
You may need to survive on your own after an emergency or disaster. Local officials and relief workers may not reach everyone immediately; leaving you without help for hours or even days. This means you should have your own food, water and other supplies in sufficient quantity to last for a minimum of 72 hours. We will show you how to prepare for such an event.
In any emergency, whether it be an ice storm, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, the aftermath of riots or social breakdown, you need shelter, clean water, alternative power, transportation, delivery of supplies, and the ability to deal with fire dangers and hazardous materials.
Individual skill sets are listed to the right. All individuals should be able to perform the basic Level 1 skills.
